The Ceremonial Chair
It is made out of wood and ornamented with precious semi precious stones .
In some parts it is inlaid with ivory , ebony .
– At the top of the chair we could see the solar disk under it 2 cartouches inscriped inside them the nsw bity name of the s3r , name of the king but they are not painted .
There are 2 friezes of Cobras to the right and left the solar disc.
In the second part we could see goddess nkhbt who is represented with out stretched wings holding sn sign between it’s claws and also a feather .
She is flanked from both sides by 2 Cartouches the king and bear his names .
– This chair had been carved during the early years of the king’s reign .
– The rear part of the chair is ornamented with 3 column of ivory and 4 of ebony, all the 7 columns were inscribed with the names of titles of the king .
– The seat of the chair is a typical style of king Tut Ankh Amon chairs as it is a curved seat with 4 coves 2 from the back and 2 coves from the front .
– The most important thing here is that the chair gives the impression as it was covered with spotted animal skin mostly of coves and the tail of the animal is coiled around the leg of the chair .
The legs of the chair are folded and that reminds us the beach chair .
Also we could see parts of the open work decoration representing the sanawi which had completely disappeared from the other Throne .
At the back of the chair , there are 3 supporting pilla in the middle we could see a vulture spreading as her wings with SN sign between her claws .
The legs of the chair are formed like ducks head in front of them , the footstool bears the figures of bounce captives from foreign lands .
The ostrich Fan
There are 2 types of fans known in ancient Egypt:
1- private fan 2- tall feather fan .
The tall feather fan : were made of gilded wood had ostrich fans , they were used in courts or in the row processions and the religious ceremonies held by bearers in order to provide the king with cool breeze .
– (The private )fan were always held by the king Thems , in the tomb of king Tut Ankh Amun 8 fans were found 7 tall ones and a private one .
They were found in the burial chamber .
